Atco splits cleanly into two kinds of garage, and which one you have changes both the day and the number.

• Something already on the slab, more often than not.The floor on Raritan Avenue had a previous coating on it, and that comes up regularly here. Paint, an old kit, a coating that didn't last. Whatever it is, it has to come off mechanically before anything new goes down. That removal is usually the biggest part of the day and it's the part a cheap quote skips.

• Pinelands sand.Sandy ground under an older slab pushes moisture up through the concrete, and moisture is what lifts a coating off. A moisture-vapor barrier goes into every floor we build as standard, not as an upgrade.
• One-car and detached garages.Common on the older streets. Smaller job, same standard, and often a bigger visual difference than a big garage.
