Getting started

What happens after you call or message us.

How do I get a price?
Send three or four photos of your garage as it is right now, from the door and from each corner, plus your town. That's usually enough for us to tell you what shape the concrete looks to be in, what we'd do, and roughly what it runs, before anybody drives out.
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. Talking through your garage and walking it with you is free. If you want us to design a full garage transformation, there's a design fee once we start drawing, and every dollar of it comes off the project if you go ahead.
What does a garage floor cost?
It depends on the size of the garage and the shape the concrete's in. Any number on a website is illustrative, and a binding price comes only from a written proposal for your garage. New Jersey requires a written contract for work over $500, and you have three days to cancel after you get a copy of it.
What does a complete garage transformation cost?
Most land between $10,000 and $25,000, depending on the size of the garage and how far you take it. Floor-only projects are a lot less. We put the range out in the open so you can decide whether it's worth a conversation before anyone spends an afternoon measuring.

The floor itself

Coated floors, modular tile, and which one suits your slab.

What's the difference between a coated floor and modular tile?
A coated floor bonds to your concrete and becomes one continuous surface with no seams. Modular tile floats on top of the slab, locks together, and any damaged section can be swapped out. Neither is the upgrade. They solve different problems. Compare them here.
Can you coat over paint or an old coating?
Not over the top of it, no. Anything already on the slab has to come off mechanically before a new floor goes down. On older garages that removal is often the biggest part of the job, and it's the step a cheap quote skips.
Why do garage floor coatings fail?
Usually moisture or preparation. Ground moisture works up through the slab and lifts the coating off, or the concrete was never properly ground and the coating never bonded in the first place. We grind mechanically and a moisture-vapor barrier goes into every floor as standard, not as an upgrade.
My floor is just dirty with a few cracks. Is that worth doing?
That's most of what we do. Dirty, stained concrete with some cracking is the normal starting point, not a special case. Cracks get repaired, the surface gets ground and rebuilt, and the difference is bigger than people expect because the whole room lifts at once.
Can you make it seamless with no joint lines?
Often, and we'll tell you honestly whether your slab is a reasonable candidate. Coating across a control joint gives you one unbroken surface. The joint is still under there though, so if the concrete moves the crack can telegraph through. Your call, made knowing the tradeoff.
Will my floor crack again?
We repair concrete so it can properly take the system, and we don't promise it will never move again, because nobody honestly can. What we control is whether the floor on top is built correctly, and that's what the warranty covers.

Scheduling and the work

How long it takes and what your week looks like.

Can you do it in one day?
Sometimes. On a smaller garage with concrete in decent shape we can often be in and finished the same day, and modular tile is quicker still. A bigger slab, or one needing serious repair, takes longer. What we won't do is promise a day and then drop a step to hit it.
When can I walk on it and park on it?
Foot traffic is usually the day after the last coat and vehicles a few days after that. We give you the exact dates before we start and we write them down. Modular tile has no cure time at all, so you park on it the same day.
Do I have to empty the garage?
Yes, and doing it before we arrive keeps the cost down. If you've just bought the house, the window between closing and the moving truck is the easiest time in the world to do this.
Will you make a mess of my driveway?
No. We grind with dust collection, we protect what's there, and we clean up at the end of every day rather than at the end of the job.

Storage and the whole garage

When the floor is only the start.

Do you only do floors?
No. Floors, storage and finishing, and we plan them together when you want all three, because in a garage they touch each other. Cabinets have to clear the door swing and the floor has to work around where shelving lands.
Should cabinets be on the wall or on the floor?
Both are right and it depends on you. Wall-mounted keeps the floor running unbroken underneath and out of the winter wet. Floor-mounted handles heavier loads and stays movable, which matters if you might reconfigure in a few years.
Do you make me pick products out of a catalog?
No. We work out what's actually in your garage first, how often you reach for it and whether you want to see it or never think about it again. Products get specified last, once those answers have already made most of the decision.

Warranty and aftercare

What's covered, and how to look after it.

What's the warranty?
One written warranty, given to you at the end. There's no three, five and seven year ladder, because that structure exists to sell you the version of the floor that was built correctly. We build one floor, correctly.
What isn't covered?
Movement of the concrete underneath. New cracks from slab movement, structural issues, or a crack telegraphing through a seamless floor where you chose to coat over a control joint. The written warranty controls, and anything on this website is a summary.
How do I clean it?
Sweep it, then wash it with water and a mild cleaner when it needs it. Avoid harsh solvents and don't drag sharp steel across it. That's the whole list, and we leave it with you in writing.

Where we work

And how far we'll travel.

What areas do you cover?
South Jersey, the towns around Philadelphia, and northern Delaware. The full list is here. If your town isn't on it, call anyway. The list is where we work most, not a fence.
Have you worked in my town?
Maybe. We've finished garages in Atco, Voorhees, Willingboro, Mount Holly, Sewell, Swedesboro and Willow Grove, with photos of each on our work page. If we haven't been to yours yet, we'll tell you where the closest one is.
